About Me
Patrick Lynch isan experienced biomedical manager with formal training as a technician,engineer, and in business management (at the graduate level). He has worked exclusively in healthcare since1975. And has managed clinicalengineering and biomedical departments since 1979. Presently, he iswith Global Medical Imaging, an ultrasound sales, training, parts, and servicecompany in Charlotte, where his full-time job is to support the development of the biomedical profession throughout thecountry. This is accomplished through no-charge advice, consulting, mentoring, frequent educational presentations and the active creation and development oflocal biomedical associations. Pat is the 2-time winner of the ACCE (American College of Clinical Engineering) Advocacy Award (2004 and 2009) and MD Publishing’s Professional of the Year (2012). Professionally, he was the first president of the North Carolina Biomedical Association in 1980/81and the Chairman of the Board of Examiners for Biomedical Equipment Techniciansfor 6 years. Patrick remains active in the profession, as a member of over 40 Biomedical associations in the US, and a Board Member or advisor to many of them (META, FMESA, NC, SC, Alabama, Utah, Virginia, and Ohio) Pat is aregular contributor to Tech Nation Magazine, BI&T, TechNation listserv,Executive Insights, Advances for Imaging and Radiation Oncology and Biomedtalklistserv. Pat is a fellow of the American College of Clinical Engineering. Pat is Boaerd Chair of META and President of the HTMA-SC. Pat also remainsactive in the training and support of Biomeds in other countries, having taught in Cuba, Rwanda (Africa), Haiti, Honduras and Guatemala. Pat is married, living happily in Fort Mill, South Carolina with his wife, and near their 3 children and 6 grandchildren. He may be reached at plynch@gmi3.com.
